Psalm 63
A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.
1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land
where there is no water. —NIV

It was late summer. Everywhere we went, there were brittle parched fields of corn. The creeks and ponds where we normally canoed had become mud beds we could walk across. Around us was a dry and arid land.
Even today I looked across the Missouri River and wondered … just
wondered ….
In our human world, we too can feel a spiritual drought, this dry and parched land of our mortal existence. We seek what the world cannot give, but we also seek respite for our immortal soul.
It is through our belief and trust in God that our soul is not stranded in a weary desert but instead drinks of the water of life.
God is the living water, now and forever.

Prayer: Dear God, I earnestly seek You, the One who is the Living Water to my soul. Be with me, O Lord. Be with me.
